Affton Chamber Receives Community Improvement Grant
The St. Louis County Port Authority recently announced that the Affton Chamber of Commerce will receive a $50,000 grant from the Community Reinvestment Fund. This grant will go toward establishing the Affton Gravois Business Corridor fund, which aims to financially assist commercial property owners and tenants seeking to make exterior improvements to their buildings and/or landscape along Gravois Road, from Musick Road to the St. Louis City limits.
“We are thrilled to be able to assist Affton businesses make a visual impact along Gravois Road,” said Lisa Rackley, executive director of the Affton Chamber of Commerce. “It will be exciting to support revitalization and to further sustain economic stability in the Affton community.”
St. Louis County Port Authority and St. Louis Economic Development Partnership support projects that further the goals of business retention and growth, entrepreneurship and redevelopment. As part of this goal, they are committed to investing in projects that seek to improve St. Louis County through community and economic development activities.
This year, the Partnership through the Port Authority has pledged to reinvest lease payments received from the River City Casino and Entertainment Complex into countywide community projects, as well as into the community of Lemay.
