Civil War to Civil Rights Trading Cards -- Ulysses S. Grant National Historic Site

Ulysses S. Grant National Historic Site is offering free trading cards featuring Ulysses S. Grant's thoughts about slavery, his freeing of William Jones, and Grant's daughter Nellie's efforts to support the troops during the Civil War. Other cards include African Americans gaining the right to an education and the right to vote. The cards available at Ulysses S. Grant National Historic Site are part of a series of 550 cards available at participating national parks throughout the United States. To "earn" a trading card, kids may participate in a ranger-led tour or answer a question about their visit to the park. Drop off your recycling at any school in the Affton or Bayless area. Deposit old newspapers, shopping catalogs, computer paper, Fax paper, office paper, envelopes, non-confidential junk mail, and magazines at the yellow and green dumpsters on their parking lots. NO plastic, glass, food wrap, tissue products, phone books, or cardboard. 
You can also drop off aluminum cans at Bayless and Seven Holy Founders schools.

Salem Lutheran School currently offers certificates for sale to grocery stores, restaurants, and retail stores in varied amounts. A percentage of the proceeds is then returned to the school.
